In Japan, low birthrate and longevity is proceeding the fastest in the world, it is important to promote “visualization” of medicine by digitalization in medicine for enhancing health of Japanese people and providing seamless and high-quality medicine. Under such recognition, the Japanese government newly established “Headquarters for Medical Digital Transformation (DX) Promotion” in October 2022 and “Schedule related to promotion of medical DX (overall view)” was announced in June 2023. Efforts of medical DX aiming for enhancing efficiency of service and quality by DX in the field of medicine are going to promote in the middle and long term. To correspond to the big trend, the Group has already made various effort including Industry-Government Collaboration and Industry-Academia Collaboration in addition to the development of tools for analyzing logistic data.

The Group participated in the 3rd period of “building integrated healthcare system,” which started from FY03/23, as a cooperation institution of the program which promotes effort for fundamental research, implementation and commercialization, and which leader is “Council for Science, Technology and Innovation” located in Cabinet Office.

The Group supports the aims and objectives of “Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare, Graduate School of Medicine. The University of Tokyo”, which aims to utilize this digital twin space to develop new medical services based on AI and ICT, and supports the research and development by donation.

About Medical digital twin
Medical Real World Data (RWD) involves highly structuring and standardizing information related to all elements of healthcare in the physical space, including patient information, pharmaceuticals, medical materials, people, and facilities. By integrating this information, it maps healthcare in real-time to the cyber space. In this cyber space, advanced data utilization is conducted, and the analysis results and development technologies are brought back to the physical space.

Designated park management business

The Group was selected as a designated manager in Suita City‘s first Park-PFI project* which entrust management of Esaka Park, Suita Municipal Esaka Library, and Momoyama Park to private business operators to further improve the appeal of the facilities.

Comprehensive management of Suita City schools and childcare facilities

The Group was entrusted with facility management work for a total of 84 facilities, including elementary schools, junior high schools, kindergartens, and nursery schools owned by Suita City in April 2023.

The Group operated high quality hospital, which puts importance on diseases with big needs in Bangladesh, under the joint investment of Bangladesh partner and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The hospital which has the know-how of the Group including installing high quality of Japanese medical equipment and the system of supplying medical gas in the Group company/high construction standard/ high sanitation management standard save lives of Bangladesh and support health. The hospital collaborates with the medical college which operates by local partner and puts importance on training medical professionals and nurses.

The Group operates “Osaka Heavy Ion Therapy Center”. Heavy ion therapy is a way of treating cancers which is less burdensome because it pinpoint irradiates heavy ion beam to the cancer cells. There are only seven facilities in Japan (as of March 31, 2024). It is the first heavy ion cancer therapy center driven by the private sector.

The Group support for managing the operation of International Justice Center by using PFI for about 10 years. GREEN HOSPITAL SUPPLY, INC. takes the leadership and SHIP HEALTHCARE FOOD, INC. and F&S UNI MANAGEMENT CO., LTD. participate in the business in the Group. They conduct sales and maintenance of medial equipment /provision of food/SPD business.

*PFI: Utilizing capital and know-how of the private sector in designing, constructing, maintenance/managing and operating public facilities. The private sector takes the leadership of providing public service. It aims to provide efficient and effective public service.

The Group conducts various business including operating animal hospitals which have minimally invasive treatment which utilizing advanced medical equipment including CT and MRI/ sales of physical and chemical/research equipment.
